Photography is not so much about capturing what you see, but how you see.
Emily White is a Boston/Providence based artist who works with photography, installation, sculpture, and other mixed drawing. She grew up in rural Virginia surrounded by fields and patches of woods, and this is where she first began to see the significance of being in nature, and the innate connection we as humans have to it. Perception, memory, and the relationship between the body and landscape are common themes in her work. Through different mediums, she uses her practice as an investigation tool, in which she attempts to make meaning from seemingly disparate parts.
In the spring of 2018, she received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in the Studio For Interrelated Media department.
